Expenditure Required $ 0 Account Number(s): UT 21-60-1; and UP 3287 Amount Budgeted $4.5 M per Utilities CEP Plan Additional Required $ 0 DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The former Drainage District No. 6 dikes provide flood protection for about 4700 feet of the above ground No. 5 transmission line. These dikes were severely damaged during the November 2006 floods. Resolution No. 5853 declared an emergency action to repair these dikes; dike failure puts the No. 5 line at risk. The Public Works Department is repairing the dikes and also evaluating a long-term solution to protect the No. 5 line in the DD6 area. The agreement with URS provides engineering services to support the City's actions to repair the dikes and for the long-term protection of the No. 5 line in the former DD6 area. This amendment extends the time for completion to December 31, 2008. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No 1 to Professional Services Agreement between the City of Everett and URS Corporation.
