Paul will follow-up with the Port on this. <br />Desmond Skubi—reported he is writing a piece for The Herald regarding possible <br />opportunities in regards to the marine terminals master plan. Paul added that <br />the port is about to begin another round of public involvement in early May <br />regarding its marine terminals master plan. <br />Shannon Affholter—no report <br />Dianne Riter—no report <br />COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT <br />Brenda Stonecipher -city is moving forward on riverfront project; contract is out for <br />wetlands enhancement which will come forward soon. The budget process is in <br />the beginning phase; Dick inquired about 13 acres for ballfields—Brenda <br />responded there is no plan for ballfields although there is 40 acres of wetlands to <br />enhance and areas with boardwalks and development. <br />SILVER LAKE OUTBOARD RACES PUBLIC HEARING—Mary Jane opened the <br />public hearing at 6:10. Barry Martin gave a brief overview of this event and <br />postings of notices, etc. No response or comments were received. No citizens <br />were present. <br />Howard Shaw, Chairperson of the event reviewed the process and schedule of <br />events. <br />Dick –we've never had a single person come forward against this event; does it <br />have to be reviewed annually? <br />Barry responded that by city ordinance, this process is required. <br />Paul added that city ordinances do change and that the board could consider <br />investigating that possibility. <br />Des—is there a permit cost that covers the parks costs? No. There is a permit <br />fee, but it does not cover the costs. Paul added that we will be in a position to <br />provide costs relating to time, labor and materials. Howard added that in that one <br />day, they make less than $100 --most of which gets donated to the Silver Lake <br />Action Committee (SLAC). Public Hearing closed at 6:20pm. Des motioned that <br />the permit be recommended to City Council for approval, seconded by Dick <br />Wendt. Motion approved. <br />30 <br />
