A project artist working under a separate contract is developing <br /> aesthetic design elements for various components of the plaza. Nakano Associates will be <br /> integrating the artist's designs into the construction documents for the project. The additional <br /> design fee for this task is $8,930. <br /> Additional project lighting will be added related to the exterior of the Key Bank building to help, in <br /> part, provide additional illumination for the plaza to enhance site security. Exterior lighting design <br /> for the building will be added to Nakano Associates' scope of work for $4,413. <br /> Amendment One to the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Nakano Associates <br /> increases the overall scope of design work for the plaza. The cost of the PSA will increase from <br /> $196,120 to $209,463. This amount is available from the 20% design development contingency of <br /> the authorized project funding. <br /> Approximately $28,000 in design contingency will remain within the council approved funding <br /> ordinance for this phase of the project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign <br /> Amendment One to Professional Services Agreement with Nakano Associates for design of the <br /> Downtown Plaza at the Everett Performing Arts Center. <br />
