The Building Official shall keep an itemized account of the <br /> expense incurred by this jurisdiction in the repair or demolition of any building <br /> done pursuant to the provisions of Section 701.3, item 3, of this Code. Upon <br /> the completion of the work or repair or demolition, said Building Official shall <br /> prepare and file with the Clerk of this jurisdiction a report specifying the work <br /> done, the itemized and total cost of the work, a description of the real property <br /> upon which the building or structure is or was located, and the names and <br /> addresses of the persons entitled to notice pursuant to section 401.3. <br /> H. Section 909 of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, <br /> 1994 Edition, is hereby amended by deleting: <br /> After confirmation of the report, certified copies of the assessment shall be <br /> given to the Assessor and the Tax Collector for this jurisdiction, who shall add <br /> the amount of the assessment to the next regular tax bill levied against the parcel <br /> for municipal purposes. <br /> and inserting in its place: <br /> Section 909. After confirmation of the report, certified copies of the assessment <br /> shall be given to the County and the City Tax Collector who shall include the <br /> amount of the assessment in the general taxes. <br /> I. The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1994 Edition, is <br /> hereby amended by the following addition: <br /> Chapter ten: Emergency Procedure <br /> City Council Action. In cases where it reasonably appears that there is <br /> immediate danger to the life or safety of any person unless a dangerous building <br /> is immediately repaired, secured, vacated or demolished, the Building Official <br /> shall report the fact to the City Council of the City of Everett and the City <br /> Council may cause a resolution to be passed authorizing the Building Official to <br /> affect the immediate repair, securing, vacation or demolition of the dangerous <br /> building. The cost of the emergency repair, securing, vacation, or demolition <br /> of such dangerous buildings shall be collected in the same manner as provided <br /> in Chapter Nine. <br /> J. The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1994 Edition, is <br /> hereby amended by the addition of the following section: <br /> Authority to Abate. <br /> a) Any violation of the Code is hereby declared to be a nuisance. <br /> b) Where a nuisance exists, the City Attorney on behalf of the City is <br /> authorized to institute injunction, mandamus, or other appropriate action <br /> or proceeding to prevent the violation of this Code. <br /> 5 <br />
