5 <br />64, <br />4.1.10 Streetscape Elements: <br />Intent: To create a more pedestrian friendly street through the use <br />of site furnishings. <br />Guidelines: Publicly usable site furnishings such as benches, <br />tables, bike racks and other pedestrian amenities shall be <br />provided at building entrances and other pedestrian areas <br />for all buildings. Specific types of site furnishings shall be <br />approved by the City if in the right-of-way. <br />4.1.10 Sidewalks and Street Trees: <br />Intent: To establish a consistent character for street right-of-ways <br />and enhance the natural, aesthetic and urban environment <br />as well as improve pedestrian safety. <br />Guidelines: Minimum streetscape improvements are listed in <br />Section 2 of Ordinance 2850-05. The following guidelines <br />provide additional information regarding the nature and <br />intent of said improvements. The Planning Director and <br />City Engineer will have final review authority over actual <br />improvements installed. <br />• Street trees shall be planted between the curb and the walking path <br />of the sidewalk. <br />• Large trees with overhanging canopies or branches are desirable. <br />However, species of street trees shall be of a type approved by the <br />City. <br />CP Between the building and sidewalk there shall be a minimum of <br />seven feet of Type II Landscaping. <br />33 <br />
