Plan Check Review Nos <br />October 13, 1998 <br />Page 7 of 9 <br />B59674, B59674, B59676 <br />VFor the purposes of this review, unit types A and B as shown on Sheet A-3.2 have been reviewed <br />as Type B accessible dwelling units, unit types A and B on Sheet A-3.4 have been reviewed as <br />Type A accessible dwelling units. The units shown on Sheets A-3.3 & A-3.5 appear to be <br />duplicates of the previous units and have not been reviewed. <br />dThe plans should show where support blocking for future toilet and tub grab bars is to be <br />provided in the adaptable units. Section 1106.27.2.1 <br />Accessible openings shot,:d have a 32" minimum clear width per Section 1106.10.2. Note that <br />2'-8" doors may not achieve this due to the stops and door thickness on the hinge. The doors <br />within the dwelling units should be verified for compliance. <br />014. he following comments apply to the one designated accessible bathroom in Type A and B <br />dwelling units per Section 1105.2.2: <br />Cahe height, and clearances of the accessible toilets and lavatories should be shown. Section <br />// 1106.11 <br />C. /Kot water and drain pipes exposed under lavatories and sinks should be shown as insulated or <br />covered to prevent contact. Section 1106.11.7.4 <br />A shower spray unit, with a hose at least 60 inches long, that can be used as a fixed shower <br />head or as a hand-held shower, should be specified on the plans. Section 1106.11.9.4 <br />C15)he following comments apply to the Type A accessible dwelling units on Sheet A-3.4: <br />The floor level of the decks should be shown level with the floor level of the dwelling unit. A <br />maximum 3/4" door threshold is permitted for the sliding glass doors. Section 1006.10.4 <br />Pb. orward approach to a door which must be pulled open requires a minimum clearance of 60 <br />nches perpendicular to the door and a minimum side clearance of 18 inches next to the latch <br />on the approach side.
