RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION <br />Wetland and adjacent upland plant species are described as <br />in the overstc.y, shrub or herbaceous tayer when applicabie. <br />from the site-spec'fiic investigation are reported below. <br />General Site Information <br />being dominant, common, or scattered <br />The data and observations resuRing <br />The subject property is an irregularly shaped 6 acre parcel. The site consists of moderate to steep <br />slopes in the eastem part of the site, and gentle slopes in the west, generally sloping toward the west. <br />Two existing residences are located on the site in the northeast comer of the site adjacent to 52n° <br />Street. A gravel access road enters the site near the northeast property comer, extending down <br />slope to the west. <br />Hydrology <br />The natural topography of the subject parcel consists of steep to gentle slopes generally sloping <br />towards the west. A wetland is locatecf in the eastem part of the site on a gentle slope, which <br />discharges to Pigeon Creek, located at the eastem property boundary. <br />Hydrology of the site is predominantly derived from groundwater discharge, and secondarily from <br />seasonai stormwater. Hydrology on the site was observed in the field in July 2006. <br />VeaetaUon <br />The vegetation on the subject property consists of a forest community, with the exception of the area <br />directly around the residences. <br />The overstory of the forest community consists of a mix of deciduous and confferous trees, dominated <br />by westem hemlock (Tsuga heterophyl/a). Other species observed include Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga <br />menziesir) red alder (A/nus rubra), western red cedar (Thuja plicata), and big-leaf maple (Acer <br />macrophyllum). The understory is dominated by vine maple (Acer ci�inalum) and sword fem <br />(Polystichum munitum) in the up�ands and saimonberty (Rubus spectabilis) and skunk cabbage <br />(Lysichiton americanum) �n the wetlands. <br />7 <br />I� <br />
