JTE, Inc.
Mike Collins, Division General Manager
PACIFIC NORTHWEST RURAL/METRO AMBULANCE
December 9. 2009
Page 3-
Captured Trips: Site trips shared by more than one land use in a multi-use
development.
Primary New)Trips: Trips made for the specific purpose of using the services of
the project.
Trip Generation
The project site is currently developed witli a 47,842 sf building. A portion of the building
(20.560 sf) is to be converted into the proosed proect. And an additional 5,283 sf is to be
added via ser,ond floor addition to be used for office by lhe proposed project.
We have conducted the trip generation using the foilowing variables:
• Existing Use
o General Light Induslrial
• Proposed Use
o Office
• Squarc Footagc
• Number of Eciployees
o Maintenance/Ambulance Usage
• Derived using provided data lincluded in the apperdix)
The proposed Rural Ambulance project is expected to generate [he vehicular trips during Ihe
average weekday, street traffic AM and PM peak hours as shown in Tat le 1. The trip
generation for[he project is calculatcd using Irip rales from the Institute of Transportation
Engineers (ITE)Trip Generation, Eighth Edition, for Manufacturing and Genaral Light
Industrial QTE Land Use Codr, 140 and 110, respectively). AI site trips made by ail vehicles
(or all purposes, including commuter, visitor, and service and deiivery vchicle trips are
included in lhe lrip generation values.
Existing Use:
As indicaled earlier in this report the project site is developed with a 47,842 sf building that
was classified as General Light Industrial. The proposed project is to convert 20,560 5(of
the existing building. Thus for analysis purposes we have used 20,560 sf as the basis for the
existing use. Based on our analysis the exis[ing use is projecteJ to generate 20 PM peak
hour trips.
Proposed L'se:
The proposed project provides lwo different components:
 Of(ice
 Arnbulance Operations/Maintenance
, .
