The nearest noise <br />sensitive receivers would be the residential neighborhoods in Everett across the <br />Snohomish River from the site, approximately three fourths of a mile from the site. <br />3) Proposed measures to reduce or control noise impacts, if any - <br />None proposed. <br />8. Land and Shoreline Use <br />a. What is the current use of the site and adjacent properties? <br />The site is a closed landfill. It is subject to NPDES permit requirements for the operation of <br />the onsite wastewater treatment system. Adjacent properties to the east are used for log <br />handling and storage; to the north the property is marshland; to the south lies the <br />Snohomish River; and to the west lies Possession Sound. <br />b. Has the site been used for agriculture? If so, describe. <br />No. <br />c. Describe any structures on the site. <br />The only above -ground structure now existing on the site is a gatehouse located on the <br />northernmost point of the treatment ponds. This small structure (10 by 10 feet <br />approximately) houses the flood gate that controls the flow of treated effluent into the side <br />channel of Steamboat Slough. <br />Below -ground structures include two outlet structures and a pump station wet wrll located <br />in the landfill. The pump station is located in the perimeter dike on the east side of the <br />landfill. One outlet structure is located within the landfill adjacent to the pump station wet <br />well on the east side. Surface water from the eastern area within the landfill currently drains <br />via this outlet structure to the pump station wet well. The pump station discharges the <br />water to the second outlet structure located within the landfill on the west side. This outlet <br />structure also receives surface water from the western area within the landfill. All surface <br />water from the western outlet structure discharges via gravity flow pipeline to the sediment <br />pond. <br />d. Will any structures be demolished? If so, what? <br />The existing pump station and both outlet structures will be removed as part of the landfill <br />closure improvements. <br />e. What is the current zoning classification of the site? <br />The portion of the site located in Snohomish County is zoned LI (Light Industrial). The <br />portion located in Everett is zoned M-2, Heavy Manufacturing. <br />f. What is the current comprehensive plan designation of the site? <br />The Snohomish County Comprehensive Plan designates the site as Urban Industrial. The <br />Everett Comprehensive Plan designates it as Heavy Industrial. <br />g. If applicable, what is the current shoreline master program designation of the site? <br />19 <br />
