SCHEDULE B: SIv11 i ISLAND LANDFILL 177065B <br />PHASE 2 CLOSURE IMPROVEMENTS <br />SECTION 02315 <br />EXCAVATION <br />PART1 GENERAL <br />1.1 WORK INCLUDED <br />A. This section describes excavation necessary for completion of the Project, <br />including excavation for ditch sediment removal, waste regrading, pipe <br />trenches, and dike material for waste covering. <br />1.2 EXCAVATION SUPPORT AND SAFETY <br />A. For trench excavation exa;eding 4 feet in depth, install and maintain adequate <br />excavati,)n safety and shoring systems that meet the requirements of <br />Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act, Chapter49.17 RCW and <br />WAC 296-155. "Safety Standards for Construction Work" Part IV - <br />Excavation, Trenching and Shoring, and all other applicable local, state, and <br />federal regulations. <br />1.3 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Informational Submittal: Submit complete landfill topographic survey <br />performed by a professional land surveyor registered in the State of <br />Washington. Submit 5 working days prior to excavation within the landf ' <br />limits as specified herein. Topographic survey shall be performed within the <br />landfill limits (all area within the perimeter dike) at a 50-foot grid across the <br />entire survey area using a 1-foot contour interval. Submit the following <br />information after completion of the topographic survey: <br />1. AutoCAD file that includes digital terrain model (DTM), data points, <br />break lines, and contours. <br />2. ASCII file of all surveyed data points. <br />3. ASCII file of all %,ontrol point coordinates. <br />1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Provide adequate survey control to avoid unauthorized overexcavation. <br />1.5 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING <br />A. Excavation and removal of ditch sediments and perimeter dike excavation <br />shall be sequenced and coordinated such that Outfall No. 005 is plugged prior <br />to start of ditch sediment removal. <br />SEA/177065.A7.19 JULY 16, 2004 <br />02315 1 EXCAVATION <br />
