Contractor shall verify with Owner that all required permits have been <br />obtained prior to start of excavation work. <br />C. Clearing and Grubbing: Complete applicable Work specified in <br />Section 02200, Site Preparation, prior to excavating. <br />D. Site Topographic Survey: Submit complete landfill topographic survey as <br />specified herein a minimum 5 working days prior to waste excavation within <br />the landfill limits for review by the Engineer. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 GENERAL <br />A. Control water during course of construction as required to accomplish the <br />following requirements: <br />1. Maintain trench excavations free of water during construction of <br />pipelines and backfilling of trenches. <br />B. Contractor to provide all necessary equipment and materials including sump <br />pumps, piping and fittings, power, and treatment systems to adequately <br />control water in the excavation and discharge in accordance with the <br />following requirements: <br />1. Contractor may dispose of water collected by dewatering operations into <br />Owner facilities in coordination with Owner. <br />2. Discharge water in manner that will not cause erosion or flooding, or <br />otherwise damage existing facilities, completed Work, or adjacent <br />property. <br />3.2 DITCH SEDIMENT EXCAVATION <br />A. After plugging of Outfall No. 005 is complete, excavate sediments from the <br />bottom of the exterior ditch at the locations shown on the Drawings and as <br />listed below: <br />1. Exterior ditch on east and north side of landfill. <br />2. Exterior ditch on the west side of landfill for full length to Outfall <br />No. 005. <br />B. Dispose of excavated sediments within the landfill limits. Place in thin lifts <br />not exceeding 6-inch uncompacted (loose) thickness, prior to placement of <br />SEA/177065.A7.19 JULY 16, 2004 <br />02315 2 EXCAVATION <br />
