SCHEDULE B: SMII'H.LAND LANDFILL 177065B <br />PHASE 2 CLOSURE IMPROVEMENTS <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 GENERAL <br />A. Pipe laying shall proceed upgrade with spigot ends pointing in direction of <br />flow. <br />B. Excavate bell holes at each joint to permit correct assembly and inspection of <br />entire joint. <br />C. Pipe invert may deviate from line or grade up to 1/2 inch for line and 1/4 inch <br />for grade, provided that finished pipe line will present a uniform bore, and <br />such variation does not result in a level or reverse sloping invert, or less than <br />minimum slope shown. <br />D. Pipe bedding shall form continuous and uniform bearing and support for pipe <br />barrel between joints. Pipe shall not rest directly on bell or pipe joint. <br />E. Prevent entry of foreign material into gasketed joints. <br />F. Plug or close off pipes that are stubbed off for manhole, concrete structure, or <br />for connection by others, with temporary watertight plugs. <br />G. Trench excavation and placement of pipe bedding and pipe zone materials <br />shall be in accordance with Section 02320, Trench Backfill. <br />H. Any excavation safety systems shall be in accordance with Section 02315, <br />Excavation. <br />3.2 TRANSPORTATION <br />A. Care shall be taken during transportation of the pipe that it is not cut, kinked, <br />or otherwise damaged. Transport in accordance with manufacturer's <br />recommendations. <br />3.3 PIPE CLEANING <br />A. Prior to final acceptance and final inspection of the stormwater pipes by <br />Owner's Representative, flush and clean all pipes. Remove all accumulated <br />construction debris, rocks, gravel, sand, silt, and other foreign material. <br />B. Upon Owner's Representative's final inspection of the stormwater pipes, if <br />any foreign matter is still present in the system, reflush and clean the sections <br />and portions of the lines as required. <br />SEA/177065.A7.19 JULY 16, 2004 <br />02632 2 STORM DRAIN PIPING <br />
