SECTION 01575 <br />HAZARDOUS AND CONTAMINATED SUBSTANCE HEALTH AND SAFETY <br />b.) Demonstrable experience in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) selection and <br />use, hazardous material identification and disposal procedures, air monitoring <br />techniques, and site control measures. <br />c.) Working knowledge of federal OSHA and state WISHA regulations. <br />d.) Completion of required OSHA Training in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120, <br />including completion of forty (40)-hour supervisory training and eight (8)-hour <br />annual update and completion of three (3) calendar days on -site training by a fully <br />qualified instructor. <br />2. Qualifications of the SSHO include: <br />a.) Completion of required OSHA Training in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120, <br />including completion of forty (40)-hour supervisory training and eight (8)-hour <br />Lnnual update and completion of three (3) calendar days on -site training by a fully <br />qualified instructor. <br />b.) Minimum of three (3) years experience in hazardous substance/waste site <br />remediaticn or related work. <br />c.) Current certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). <br />d.) Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local occupational health and safety <br />regulations. <br />e.) An extensive working knowledge of air monitoring techniques and the <br />development of health and safety programs for personnel working in potentially <br />hazardous or toxic environments. <br />B. Responsibilities: <br />CIH <br />a.) Responsible for certifying the Contractor's HCSHSP, any task specific HCSHSPs, <br />and all additions and/or modifications thereto. <br />b.) Required to be accessible to the Contractor's SSHO as necessary, to assist in the <br />identification and evaluation of potential hazards and the develr;..nent of <br />appropriate procedures for addressing known or suspected conditions or activities <br />that may pose routine occupational hazards or immediate danger to life or health <br />of Contractor personnel, Sound Transit personnel, utility crews working in the <br />project construction area, personnel related to third party stakeholders or the <br />public. <br />2. SSHO <br />a.) Required to be on site and present during hazardous and/or contaminated <br />substance work to be completed by Contractor. Such work may include, but is not <br />limited to: contaminated soil and associated sampling activities, air monitoring, <br />removal of lead, PCB, or asbestos -containing materials, and work related to the <br />Capital Projects Commuter Rail 01575 - 3 IFB No. RTA/CP 21-06 <br />Everett Station Phase 2HAZARDOUS AND CONTAMINATED SUBSTANCE HEALTH AND SAFETY <br />
