ATTACHAAENT A TO SECTION 01900 <br />REVISIONS TO THE STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />Parking Lot Site Improvement <br />The sequence of work within ihe parking lot shall generally be as (ollows: <br />1. Excavate lot to design grade, saving top material if suitable as directed by the Resident <br />Engineer. These are shaded areas on the drawings. <br />2. Proof roll newly excavated areas, excavate and backfill as described below. <br />Structural fill shall coiisist of gravel borrow in accordance with Section 9•03.14(1) of ihe Standard <br />Specifications, cornpacted in ac;:urdance with Section 2-03.3(14)C. <br />Unsuitable material is defined as any material ihat does not meet the requirements for gravel borrow <br />or crushed surfacing base course in accordance with Section 9-03.14(1) and 9-03.9(3). <br />Roadway and site excavation shall include excavation, removal, hauling, placing and compacting <br />existing suitable material to design grade �ocations, and disposal of all surplus material. <br />Any excavation or embankment beyond the limits indicated in the Plans, unless ordered by the <br />Resident Engineer, will not be paid tor. All work and material required to return these areas to iheir <br />original condition, as dir�cted by the Resident Engineer, shall be provided by the Contractor at no <br />additional cost to the Owner. <br />All areas shall be excavated, filled, and/or backtilled as necessary lo comply with the grades shown <br />in the Plans. In filled and backfilled areas, fine grading shall begin within Ihe tinal 6" of fill. Final <br />grading shall produce a sur(ace ihat is smooth and even, without abrupt changes in grade. <br />The Contracior shall provide temporary drainage to keep the grade tree from standing water. <br />The subgrade shall be free from rocks or cemented lumps larger than 2Yz' in greatest dimension, in <br />ihe top 6". <br />Excavatioi tor curbs and gutters shall be accomplished by cutting accurately to the cross-sections, <br />�rades, and elevations shown. Care shall be taken not to excavate below tiie specitied grades. The <br />Coniractor shall maintain all excavations free from detrimental quantities of leaves, brush, sticks, <br />trash, and o�her debris until tinal acceptance oi ihe work. <br />When the existing temporary detention pond is no longer needed, it shall be drained, backiilled with <br />gravel borrow, and the ience removed. Alternatively, the bottom of the detention pond may be <br />backfilled with unsuitable onsite soils as detined in ihe supplement to Section 2-03.3 of the Standard <br />Speci(ications up to 24 inche� below the subgrade elevation, and compacted at ihe direction o( the <br />Resident Engineer. Ii unsuitable onsite soils are used to backfill the pond, construction geotextile for <br />soil stabilization shall be placed between the unsuitable soils and the overlying gravel backtill, in <br />accordance with Table 3 0( Section 9-33.2(1) of the Standard Speci!icatior.s. <br />The excavations for precast concrete storm tilter vault and pre-ire .,nent vault shall be over- <br />excavated 78 inches and backfilled with compacted crushed sur(acing base course in accordance <br />with Section 9-03.9(3) placed and compacted in accordance with Section 4-04.3(4) and 4-04.3(5). <br />Excavation Below Grade <br />Section 2-03.3(3) is supplemented with ihe tollowing: <br />Excavated onsite ma�erial which meets Ihe requirements fer gravel borrow or crushed suriacing <br />base course as defined in Sections 9-03.14�1) and 9-03.9(3) shall be reused tor onsite backfill <br />as directed by ihe Resident Engineer. <br />Capital Projecis Commuter Rail Attachment A to Section 01900 - 9 IFB No. RTA/CP 21-06 <br />� Everett Station Phase 2REVISION� TO THE STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONSAddendum No.4 <br />
