ATTACHMENT A TO SECTION 01900 <br />REVISIONS TO THE STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />The Contractor shall core drill, line di�ll or wall saw an opening to match the size of pipe to be <br />inserted. Where line drilling is the method used, ihe drilled holes must be interconnected. Line <br />drilling shali be accomptished by the use o( a smail core drill or a rotary hammer. Jackhammer <br />shall not be used. All openings must p�ovide a minimum of 1 inch and a maximum of 2 inches <br />clearance around the cir;umference of ihe pipe. Upstream pipes, except PVC pipe, penetrating <br />ihe walls ot manholes shall be placed with the bell facing out such that the bell is placed snug <br />against ihe outside wall of the structure as ihe angle of penetration allows. Pipe, excepl PVC <br />pipe, leaving or entering manholes shall be provided w�th a flexible joint within �/z of a pipe <br />diameter, or 12 inches, whichever is greater. <br />All pipes except CMP and PVC pipe entering or leaving the manhole shall be provided with <br />(lexible joints within Yt of a pipe diameter, or 12 inches, whichever is greater, from the outside <br />(ace oi the manhole structure. The pipes shall be placed on firmly compacted bsdding, <br />particularly within the area of the manhole excavation ihat normally is deeper than ihat of the <br />sewer trench. Special care shall be taken to see that the openings ihrough which pipes enter <br />the manhole are completely and tirmly rammed fuil of non-shrink grout to ensure water <br />tighiness. <br />PVC pipe connecting to manhole shall be provided with a manhole adapter complete with <br />gasket and approved by the Resident Engineer. No pipe joint in PVC pipe shall be placed <br />within 10' of ihe outside iace of the manhole. <br />Furnish and Instaii Locking Solid Lid for Catch Basins <br />Where shown in the Plans, new solid locking lids shall be turnished and installed on existing catch <br />basins. The solid lids shall conform to Section 9-05.15 oi the Standard Speciiications and to City of <br />Everett Standard Drawing 607. Solid round lids shall have "DRAIN" in 3-inch raised letters. <br />CLEANING EXISTING DRAINAGE STRUCTURES <br />Consiruction Requirements <br />Section 7-07.3 is supplemented with the following: <br />Prior to construction, the Coniractor and Resident Engineer shall inspect the existing vaults A and B, <br />where shown on ihe Plans at the south end ot the South Parking Lot, for existing silt Ievel. At <br />completion of ihe project ihe vaults shall be inspected again, and the Contractor shall remove any <br />additional accumulation o( silt caused by construction operations. <br />GENF.RAL PIPE INSTALLATION RE�UIREMENTS <br />Construction Requirements <br />Section 7-08.3 is supplemented with the toilowing: <br />Recent work in the project area indicates signific=.nt amounis ot perched water may be encountered, <br />depending on ihe type of soil in the localized work area. <br />Where water is encountered in the trench, it shall be removed d�ring pipe-laying operations and ihe <br />trench so maintained until the ends oi the pipe are sealed and provisions are made to prevent <br />floating of ihe pipe. Trench water or other deleterious materials shall not be allowed to enter the <br />pipe at any time. <br />It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to furnisli, install, and operate all necessary machinery, <br />appliances, and equipment to keep excavation� (ree from water during consiruction. <br />Trenches � <br />The second and third paragraphs of Section 7-08.3(1)A are deleted and replaced with the foliowing: - <br />Capital Projects Commuter Rail Atlachment A to Section 01900 - 18 IFB No. RTA/CP 21-06 <br />� Everett Station Phase 2REVISIONS TO THE STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONSAddendum No.4 <br />
