ATTACHMENT A TO SECTION 01900 <br />REVISI��NS TO THE STANDQRD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />prevent float�ng of the pipe. Trench water or other deleterio�s materials shall not be allowed to <br />enter ihe pipe at any time. <br />It shall be the Coniractor's responsibility to iurnish, install, and operate all necessary machinery, <br />appliances, and equipment to keep excavations free (rom water during consiruction. <br />Trenches shall be constructec: to the depths, widths, and grades shown in the Plans and in ihe <br />City of Everett Standard Drax•ings. <br />Removal and Replacement of Unsuitable Material <br />Section 7-09.3(8) is supplemented with ihe iu!!owing: <br />Replacement material tor material at the trench bottom ihat has been classified by the Resident <br />Engineer as being unsuitable material, and ordered removed, shall be (ound�tion r.aterial <br />Class A or other imported or native mater�al as deemed appropriate by the Resident Engineer. <br />Any overexcevation not speciticaily authorized by ihe Resident Engineer shall be replaced by <br />the Contractor with gravel h:••,,w, and compac:ed as specified below under Backfilling <br />Trenches, at no additional expense to Sound Transit. <br />Bedding the Pipe <br />Section 7-09.3(9) is supplemented with ihe tollawing: <br />Rigid Pipe <br />Unless otherwise specitied on the drawing or directed by the Resident E�i�ineer, pipe zone <br />material for rigid pipe shall be crushed surfacing base course per Section 9-03.9(3). <br />The pipe zone material shall be placed to a depih of at least 12 inches over the top oi the pipe <br />and 6 inches under the pipe. The pipe zone ma:erial shail be rammed and tamped arcund and <br />under the pipe by the use ot shovels or other approved hand-held tools, so as to provide tirm <br />and uniform support along the fuil length o( the pipe, valves and !';tings. Care shall be taken to <br />prevent any damage to the pipe or its protective coating. <br />Backiiliing Trenches <br />Section 7-�9.3(10) is supplemented with the following: <br />Meet the requiremenis ot City of Everett Standard Drawings 316 and 610, 611, 615 and Section <br />3-9� of ihe City of Everett Design and Consiruction Standards and Specifications. <br />Unless otherw ;e directed by the Resident Engineer, controlled density till shall be used tor fill <br />above the pip• zone tor water mains in all paved street sections. <br />Controlled dPnsity till shall conform to the requiremen•s o( Section 2-09.3!1)E oi ihe Standard <br />Speci(icatior,,,. <br />'ihe Re�ident Engineer may authorize ihe use ot gravel borrow or suitable native material in <br />non-paved areas. <br />Compaction ot irench materiais shail be accomplished using machine operated mechanical <br />compaction or hand operated mechanical compaction. <br />Generai Pipe Installation <br />Ser,tion 7-09.3(12) is supplemented with the (ollowing: <br />Meet ihe Requirements in ihe City of Everetl Design and Construction Standards and � <br />Speci(ications. - <br />�apilal Projects Commuter Rail Attachment A to Section 01900 - 20 IFB No. RTA/CP 21-06 <br />� Everett Stat�on Phase 2P.EVISIONS TO THE STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONSAddendum No.4 <br />
