ATTACHMENT A TO SECTION 01900 <br />REVISIONS TO THE STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />Through and Contraction Jo(nis <br />Standard locations for through joints tor sidewalks are: <br />(a) At street margins produced, and at 30-foot intervals. <br />(h) To separate concrete driveways, stairways, curb ramps and their landings (rom sidewalks. <br />(c) Around the vertical barrel of Eire hydrants, around utility poles and large diameter <br />underground utility cover castings and vaulis, around canopy footings, when located in the <br />sidewalk area. <br />(d) Longitudinally batween concrete walks, curbs, paved planting strips, solid masonry or <br />concrete �valls, building edges, and ihe beginning and ends of ramps where they abut. <br />(e) To match as neariy as possible, the ihrough joints in the adjacent pavement and curb <br />when sidewalk abuts curb. <br />Transverse contraction joinis (dummy ioints; shall be constructed with premolded material 1/2" x 1- <br />1/2" wide, and set at approximately 15-toot intervals, or as decided by the Resident Engineer. At no <br />time will joint spacing exceed 15 feet. <br />Transverse and longitudinal through jcints as shown in the F'lans shall be 1/2 ii7ch thick premolded <br />non-extruding joint material, cut to a widih equal to the Tull depth of the concrete, plus 112 inch. <br />When installed, they sha�l be placed with top edge tlush wilh the finished surface of the concrete, in <br />a perpendicular plane to the sur(ace and with the botlom edge embedded in the subgrades. All <br />joinis shall be in straight alignment, except where placed in curved locations as required by the <br />Drawings. <br />Curb Ramps <br />Curb ramps Type A, B, C-Modified, and Special shall be installed at locations designated on the <br />drawings or marked in ihe field by ihe Resident Engineer. Where curb ramps are to be conshucted, <br />ihe Contractor shall construct monolithic depressed curb and sidewalk as detailed in the Plans. - <br />Cuib ramps shall be consiructed separately irom the sidewalk to produce a definite break line <br />between ihe ramp and ihe sidewalk. A 3/8-inch non-extruded through joint material shall be installed <br />between the curb and the sidewalk with edging as specitied in Section 8-14.3(3). <br />The triangular shaped sidewing areas shall be brush finished with brushing parallel to the curb face. <br />The adjacent sidewalk "V" groove scoring pattern shall not extend into the curb ramp sidewing <br />areas. The inclined plane of ihe ramp shall have a coarse texiured surface in a diamond pattern as <br />shown in the Plans. The long axis of ihe diamond shaped impression shall be perpendicular to ihe <br />curb line. The 1/2-inch lip at the gutter line, shov;n on the Standard Drawings for curb ramps, has <br />been deleted. Curb ramps shall be ilush with the gulter line. <br />Concrete (or curb ramps shali not be colored, overlayed or topped. Curb ramps shall be considered <br />as beginning at a point flush with lhe pa.ement and terminating at a point flush with the sidewalk <br />landing. The slopino triang�lar shaped sidewings are considered part of the curb ramp. <br />PpVER FG:�NDATIONS <br />Description <br />This work shall consis; of cons�ructing cement concrete foundations for n,;anite and flagstone pavers, in <br />accordance with the detai�s shown in �he Plans. <br />Materials <br />The foundation material consis�s c;f ihe same cement concrete mix as used for sidewalks. <br />PERMANENT SIGNING <br />Description <br />The Contractor shall refer to Arohitectural provisions for additional required signage. <br />Capital Projects Commuter Rail Attachment A to Section 01900 - 30 IFB No. RTA/CP 21-06 <br />� Everett Station Phase 2REVISI�NS TO THE STANDARD PLANS AfJD SPECIFICATIONSAddendum No.4 <br />
