Drilling cuttings can be left on site for disposal with other site <br />debris. <br />Soils samples will be obtained by others during drilling. The Coniractor shall give the Resident Engineer <br />three working days advance notice of the drilling so that ihe soil sampling can be coordinated. <br />Depths o} Monitoring Wells: <br />The monitoring wells shall be drilled to depths 10 teet below ihe existing water level. The existing <br />ground suriace is at approximate elevation 58. Theretore, borings of 50 teet or less shall be drilled at <br />ihe locations. Ac�ual depth will vary depending on ground water elevation and will be decided in the <br />field by the Resident Enrineer. <br />AGGREGATES <br />Gravel Backfill <br />Section 9-03.12 is. supplemented with the tollowing new section: <br />Sand Backfill for Pipe Zone Bedding <br />Sand Backfill tor Pipe Zone Bedding tor water mains shall be a clean mixture free from organic <br />matter and conforming to ihe tollowing gradation: <br />U.S. Standard <br />Sieve Size <br />�/z' square <br />No. 4 <br />No. 50 <br />No. 200 <br />All percentages are by weight. <br />Percent Passing <br />E3v Weiaht <br />100 <br />65-100 <br />10 <br />0-3 <br />Non-Shrink Cement Sand Grout <br />Non-shrink cemeM sand grout shall be proportioned as folluws: <br />1-part high early strength (H.E.S.) cement. <br />2-paris clean tine-grairieo sand by weic�ht and well-mixed with sufficient water to obtain a stiif <br />consistency. <br />Unpolished aluminum powder shall be added to ihe dry cement in the proportion of one heaping <br />teaspoontul per sack of cement no more than 30 minutes hefore the grout mixture reaches its final <br />in-place posi�ion. <br />The required strength of the non-shrirk concrete or grout shall be (c=4,000 psi and be verified by the <br />cube strength test.
