Accesa must be provided to the first cell of the pond to
facilitate ft.ture sediment removal. A fifteen foot wide
qravel access road to the bottom of the pond, with a minimum
compacted thickness of six inches and a maximum slope of
6:1, is called for in the standards. The cell volume would
should then be increased to compensate for the volume
dieplaced by the road.
The berm between the two cells should be proteted aqainst
, eroeion. Quarry spalls or rip-rap, placed 6-12 inches thick
alonq the top of the berm and down the sides for a short
distance, should be adequate.
Pioina
The City allows PVC to have a minimum cover of 3 feet.
The pipe from catch basin ,7 to the first cell of the
wetpond should probably be raised to prevent accumulation of
sediment in the pipe. If the pipe is raised, rip-rap should
be placed at the outlet to to the bottom of the pond.
Rip-rap should be placed at the outlet of all pipes
discharging into swales or wetponds.
A trash rack should be placed on the 12 inch PVC pipe
conveying flow from the biofiltration swale to catch basin
,}7, and on the existing 12 inch concrete pipe at the
downstream end of the 33 foot long section of biofiltration
swale adjacent to SR 527.
The outlet pipe from the second cell of the wetpon3 must
have sufficient cover along its length to allow safe removal
of sediment in the future. The pipe should have at least 2
feet of protection both horizontally and vertically.
Per City standarde, a catch basin or manhole is required at
changes in storm pipe alignment - the pipe from the overflow
atructure must tie into the storm system at a catch basin or
manhole.
Miscellaneous:
The top and toe elevations of all rockeries adjacent to or
associated with stormwater facilities must be given.
It is important to leave enough horizontal room for
rockeries. City of Everett standards require a minimum of 4
feet, even for a rockery under 7 vertical feet. The plans
need to show this distance.
