Fire hydrants and access roads must be in service prior to <br /> commencement of construction. Fire safety practices during <br /> construction mu:<t be in compliance with Article 87 of the <br /> Uniform Building Code. <br /> I 25. A portable fire extinguisher with a minimum UL Rating of 2A must <br /> be provided within 75 feet travel distance of all portions of <br /> each building during construc:tion and prior to occupancy. <br /> 26. The Police Department has the following security <br /> recommendations: <br /> a. The perimeter doors should be solid core with 190 degree to <br /> 220 degree wide angle viewers and single cylinder deadbolts <br /> with 1" throw and at least 3" screws securing striker <br /> plate. <br /> b. Bay windows should overlook the parking lot for increased <br /> security of vehicles. <br /> c. Sliding glass doors should have Charlie bars installed for <br /> optimum security. <br /> d. Address and apartment numbers should be in 5 inch letters <br /> and visible from the street and parking lots. <br /> e. Mailboxes should be centrally located in an area highly <br /> • visible to the apartments. <br /> f. Lighting of the parking lot should be a minimum of 1-2 foot <br /> candles. <br /> g. During the final staqes of construction, please contact Dick <br /> Thornberry, Crime Prevention Officer at 259-0416 for further <br /> security recommendations. <br /> 27. The Snohomish County PUD currently has sufficient capacity to <br /> serve the proposed development. GTE Northwest Incorporated has facilities in the area for new <br /> customers.
