The plans should indicate thc requirement for a fire suppression system in accordance with Chaptcr 1G.76 o(the Everett Municipal Code. � 2. The plans sl�ould indicate the requirement for an automatic fire detection system in accordance with Chapter 16.76 of tlre Gverett Municipal Code. 3. I'sverett City Ordinance requires the elevator to be sized to accommodate a 24 inch by 84 inch amUulance stretcher in the horizontal, open position and identified by the international symUol for emergency medical services (Star of Life). The symbol shall not be less tlian 3 inches high and shall be placed inside on both sides of the hoist way door frame. 4. Thc elevator machinc room is required to be enclosed by a one-hour fire barrier. The door is also required to be one-hour IBC 3006.4. 5. II3C 1020.1 requires both stainvaysto be protected Uy exit enclosures. 6. IBC 1024.1 requires that at least 50 percent of exits discharge direcQy to the outside of thc building. Please note that Section 1002 defines "floor area gross" as "useable area undcr the horizontal projection of the roof or floor above." Therefore, one of the exit enclosures will need to exit to the outside or to another exit component.
