3. The impact of traffic generated by the proposed use on the surrounding
area, pedestrian circulation and public safety; and the ability of the proponent
to mitigate such potential impacts.
The proposed school replacement would not adversely impact traffic. It will increase
student capacity by 139 students. There are 118 on -site parking spaces provided.
There are existing sidewalks along the west side of the property. The existing
welcome ramp and landing will remain with an additional welcome ramp landing
and ramps provided for the proposed portables.
4. The provision of adequate off-street parking, on -site circulation, and site
access.
Silver Lake f:lementary School site currently has 118 parking spaces, site access
from the Bothell Everett Highway and circulation for the existing school is provided.
There is adequate parking to accommodate the existing staff that would be at the
school as a result of the additional portables.
It is likely that existing congestion would continue on -site within the automobile
load/unload area during peak periods.
5. Compatibility of proposed structures and improvements with surrounding
properties including the size, height, location, setback and arrangement of all
proposed buildings and facilities, especially as they relate to light and shadow
impacts on more sensitive land uses and less intensive zones.
The proposed portables will be placed adjacent to two existing portable classrooms
east of an existing covered play shed. The portables will be painted to match the
existing portables currently on -site. At its closest point, the building would be
approximately 60 feet from the nearest property line (north property line).
The portables would be approximately 13 feet 6 inches in height. This is below the
maximum height allowed of 28 feet in this zone. The portables would be of the
same quality, color and materials as those currently on the site.
6. The number, size and location of signs, especially as they relate to more
sensitive land uses.
No additional signs are proposed and none are needed related to sensitivc land areas.
7. The landscaping, buffering and screening of buildings, parking, loading and
storage areas, especially as they relate to more sensitive land uses.
FiLteen feet of Type It landscaping for approximately 90 lineal lcet north of the
portables is proposed to assist in screening them from the neighboring residential
uses. No changes in parking, loading and storage are proposed.
8. The generation of nuisance irritants such as noise, smoke, dust, odor, glare,
visual blight or other undesirable impacts.
Project Narrative and SPUCriteria © SHOCKEY
Everett School District No. 2 — Silver Lake Element ry School Portables
1'L A NN INf.
