On August 8, 1988, Ben Edwards authorized the water service to be restored to the buildinqs for construction only. Apparently there was a building permit and electrical permit issued for repair of che buildings. On Sept. 21, 1988, I sent a memo to Tim Tyler stating that the Supplemental Notice and Order had not been complied with and recommended that we proceed with aba*.ement. Jan. 11, 1989, a letter was sent to Mr. McKee, singed by Tim Tyler and Dennis Derickson, advising Mr. McKee that he was past due with the r�:quired reports pursuant to the June 21, 1988 Supplemental Notice and Order. He was given until May 1, 1989 to submit a written report. Failure to submit the report would result in conCinued abatement of the buildings. May 2, 1989, another complaint was received regarding "bad looking structures and transients using them." I advised the complainant of current action being taken. June 6, 1989, I received copies of a letter Mr. McKee sent to Tim Tyler. Mr. McKee was requesting more time for working on the buildings. As you can see, the City of Everett Staf£ has delayed abatement action time and time again to allow Mr. McKee all the time necessary to per£orm the work necessary to make these buildings habitable.
