Structural fill to bc placed for sitc grading should bc
coistructed over proof-rolled, unyiclding, undisturbed, firm, native bcaring soils lollowing the
siripping of surficial unsuitable soils.
GGOLOGIC IIAZARDS AIVD REMEDIATION
Landslidc liaz:vd
The very-dense Gcsh till soils underlying the site at shallow depth arc of high shcar strcngth nnd
have good resistance against slopc failures. Therefore, the potcntial for deep-seatcd landslides to
occur on the sitc should bc minimail.
Erosiun H:uard
The loose fill, topsoil and vr.ithcred soils are of low lo moderatc resistanc aguinst crosion,
while the undcrlying very-dense till soils are oC moderately hibh resistance against erosion.
rosion may occur over the steper portions of the site if die weilcer surficial soils are devoid of
vegetation cover and overly saturated. To mitigate crosion hazard. vegetation cover outside o1
construction limits should be maintained and any unpaved exposed ground within the site
resulted from construction activities should be rc-vcgetatcd as soon as possible. Concentrated
stomiwater should not be dischazged onto the ground within or adjacent to the site. Stormwater
over impervious surfaces, such as roofs and paved drivewy, shouid be captured by underground
drain line systems wnnecled to roof downspouts and by catch basins installcd in the paved
driveway. Watcr collected by these drain line systems should be tightlined to discharge into a
storm sewcr.
LIU & ASSOCIATS, IN'.
