Separation from Existing Hospital, MOB and New Open Parking
Garage
' 1. Per the available existing drawings, the existing hospital building
, was constructed of Type 1 construction per the 1979 Uniform
Building Code and the existing MOB was constructed of Type II
FI2 construction per the 1985 Uniform Building Code.
The existirig hospital has a construction type equivalent to Type
I-A construction per the IBC. The MOB has a construction type
' equivalent to Type I-Q per the IBC. Based on the height and
area of the existing hospital the current code only requires it to
be of Type I-B construction. As all three buildings are allowed
' to be of Type I-B construction and the area for Type I-B
construction is unlimited for all buildings involved, the new
Tower will be considered an addition to the existing buildings
' and no Fire Wall separations are required.
