Additionally, pedestrian gates at the north and west sides of the Car�cer Center <br /> project site, and at the west si�iE of the parking garage site, will be incorporated <br /> into the site fence. These will be utilized for safety (emergency egress) as well as <br /> by the survey team lo facilitate iheir work. These pedestrian only gates will not be <br /> commonly used for access into and out of either project site. <br /> For the temporary construction parking at the community college site the main <br /> traffic entrance will be u�ed for pedestrian access. In addition, the e>;isting <br /> pedestrian access onto the community college site, at the north anri east sides of <br /> the property will be maintained along with access to the existing building at the <br /> northeast corner of the community college property. <br /> Cranes <br /> Mobile cranes may be utilized on the Cancer Center project site a, various times. <br /> Generally these cranes will work within the limits of:!ie project. <br /> Mobile cranes will be utilized for ihe construction of !he Pa�king Garage project. <br /> A large lattice t�oom crawler crane will erect structurai ster:l from the west side of <br /> the ni�nned garage, along Rockefeller. Smaller hydraulic cranes will be used at <br /> various times for other activities including enclosure install:3tion. If it becomes <br /> necessary for one of these cranes to be located outside of lhe project boundary, <br /> a detailed plan will be reviewed with the City of Everett befcra implementation. <br /> Sidewalks <br /> All sidewalks aleng the north, west, and south sides of the Cancer Center project <br /> site will remain closed until the project is complete. Signage re-directing <br /> pedestrians will be provided as appropriate. <br /> Sidewalks on lhe north (13"' Street), west !Rockefeller), and south (14`h Street) <br /> sides of the parking garage project will remain closed for the duration of lhe <br /> parking garage construclion. The newly constructed sidewalks at lhe Oaks Ave. <br /> landscape buffer will remain open at all times. � <br /> Special consideration has been given to the need to safely re-direct children <br /> around the r,onstruction sites as they walk to and from Whittier Elementary <br /> school, which is approximately 2 - 3 blocks norlh of the project sites. The use of <br /> s'��age and barricades will be part of the effort to insure safety, and the <br /> construction team will place special emphasis on monitoring this process during <br /> the first weeF.s after any traffic revision. Monitoring to date suggests that many <br /> children that travel from the south to Whittier pass through the Everett <br /> Community College athletic building site. If they continue utilizing this route <br /> during construction of the parking garage, this pedestrian access may be closed <br /> ror a short period of time and pedestrians re-routed around the new completed <br /> Cancer Center to avoid intermingling of construc.tion parking on the community <br /> college site with children traveling to and from school. The construction team will <br /> closely monitor this to ensure safety. <br /> No other alternative pedestrian routes have been identified as necessary at this <br /> time. <br /> ��W: ; <br />
