The Unifortn Fire Code requires that<dl new structures must provide Fire Department <br /> access roads to within 150 feet of al: portions of the ground floor. Fire Department <br /> access roads (Fire Lanes)will provide a minimum of 20 fee:in width of unobstructed, all- <br /> season driving surface with a minimum clear height of 13'6". Fire lanes will be posted <br /> and maintained as required by the Fire Department. <br /> 12. The premises must be cleatly identified by the correct address at the street entry. <br /> � Buildings must b�� clearly identified so as to be visible and legibie from the access road. <br /> Individual apartments, where applicable, must be clearly and legible identified from the <br /> accessroad. <br /> 13. A fire hydrant is required within 200 driving feet but not closer than 50 feet, of every <br /> structure. Water flow information and the number of hydrants required will be <br /> detertnined when more detailed information is provided. <br /> The location of all hydrants must be approved by the Fire Marshal. <br /> 1�. A sprinkler system complying with UBC Standard 38-1 and/or NFPA Standard 13 must <br /> be provided. <br /> Plans f�r any such system must be submitte� to the Building Departmen4 and the Everett <br /> Fire Department for examination and approval. Such plans must include plans for the <br /> underground mains that will supply the sprinkler system. <br /> As of January, 1991, sprinkler system pertnits are issued by the Building Department. <br /> Plan review fees ar- assessed by the Building Department. No fee is assessed by the <br /> Fire Department. <br /> Above ground sprinkler pipir.g must by hydrestatically tested as established in NFPA <br /> Standard 13. Underground piping must by hydrostatically tested and flushed as <br /> established in NFPA Standard 24 for private fire mains. All such tests must be witnessed <br /> by a Fire Department Inspector.
