June 17, 2015 <br />Mayor Stephanson shared that if the State does not pass a budget, it will <br />have real and direct impacts on local government. He asked everyone to <br />encourage their legislators to take action. The Mayor stated that staff will <br />be bringing the 63 recommendations from the Streets Initiative Task Force <br />to the City Council over the next several weeks and reviewing them in <br />detail. He remarked that Sorticulture was a huge success this year and <br />was well attended. <br />COUNCIL <br />Council Member Murphy reported that the United Way Board approved <br />funding for a coordinator position to work with the Streets Initiative Task <br />Force. <br />Council Member Roberts commented that Sorticulture was a great event <br />and thanked staff for the great work. He thanked the Mayor for the letter <br />he sent to the Snohomish County Council regarding Snohomish County's <br />land use decisions. Council Member Roberts announced that there will <br />be a Sound Transit ST3 discussion at the Everett Transit Center tomorrow <br />at 5:30 p.m. <br />Council Member Moore provided a liaison report from the Public Facilities <br />District Board meeting. He thanked the Mayor for discussions related to <br />the Streets Initiative. <br />Council Member Gipson requested information related to professional <br />service agreements and how the dollar amount compares to what was <br />spent last year. CAA/CFO Debra Bryant stated that she would have a <br />discussion with Public Works staff and report back. Council Member <br />Gipson thanked Chief Templeman for looking into Seattle's program for <br />the homeless. <br />Council Member Bader, echoing Council Member Robert's comments, <br />thanked the Mayor for the letter he sent to the Snohomish County Council <br />regarding the growth management targets they set. <br />176 <br />
