Buffer Restoration Area (4,910 sr�uare fset) <br />V. Proiect Monitorinq/Maintenance <br />Upon completion of the miligation project installaiion, an inspection by a qualified wetland <br />specialist will be made to determine plan compliance. As "as-builP' report will be supplied <br />to the City of Everett relating the completeness of the project. Monitoring of the plantings <br />will be done by a qualified consulting wetland specialist in the spring and fall annually for <br />the five-year monitoring period. Twice annually, invasive species will be removed 'oy hand <br />or by weed eater. Reports describing the conditions present during the monitoring <br />inspection will be written and submitted to the City of Eve� ett annually in the fall for the <br />five-year monitcring period. Final inspection shall occur five years after completion of this <br />restoration plan. The approved welland specialist shall prepare a report as to the success <br />of this project. NO'TE: The enhancement area shall have no less than eighty (80) percent <br />survival of planted species, and 80 percent coverage by native plants with less than 10 <br />area/cover of invasive species after five years. The species mix should resemble that <br />proposed in tlie planting plan, but strict adherence to obtaining ali of the species shall not <br />be a criterion for success. <br />Prior to the initiation ef this mitigation plan, a signed five-year maintenance agreement <br />belween the property owner and contracled landscaper or other appropriate mitigation <br />plan installer shall be ma�Je available to the City of Everett. Planting areas shall be <br />maintained in the spring and summer during the five-year monitoring period. Maintenance <br />shall include, but will not be limited to the removal of competing grasses and non-native <br />vegetation, and irrigation of planted materials as necessary. All dead plants will be <br />replaced during maintenance for five (5) years. <br />VI. Continqency Plan <br />If during any of the ir.spections, 20 percent o( the piants are severely stressed, or it <br />appears 20 percent may not survive, additional plantings of the same species or, if <br />necessary, alternative species may be added to the planting area.
