n
v,.
for conformance with the Contract Documents. The Engineer shall track shop drawings to
ensure that appropriate turnaround times are met.
Amendment No. 2 Scope: A significant level of unanticipated review and additional Carollo staff
time was required to address several Contractor submittals. For example, Submittal No. 3,
Construction Schedule, ultimately required Carollo to retain the services of a specialty
subconsultant, Construction Management Services, for the review of the Contractor's
construction schedule. Submittal No. 16, Concrete Mix Design, required repeated submittal
review and discussions with both the Contractor and concrete supplier in order to determine the
acceptability of the concrete mix design.
7.3 Evaluate Change Orders
Existing Scope: Evaluate a maximum of two change order requests, and if processed, ensure
that the integrity of the original design intent has not been changed.
Amendment No. 2 Scope: Carollo evaluated many change order requests for the project as part
of the Amendment No. 1 services, but a significant level of effort was required for yard piping
modifications. This included a significant level of both engineering analysis and CAD time for
revising and re-issuing Contract Drawings for the affected areas.
7.4 On-Site Inspection Services
Existing Scope: The City will provide day-to-day, on-site inspection services for the project. The
Engineer will supplement City staff by providing periodic site visits from the Project Engineer
and Discipline Engineers.
Project Manager-Visit the project site on an average of 1.5 days/month for the duration of the
project.
Project Engineer-Visit the project site on an average of 3 days/month for the duration of the
project. It is assumed that time at the site will be spent at construction meetings; providing site
review; working with City-maintained Document Control Log; and meeting with City staff.
Discipline Engineer-When needed, the Engineer will provide on-site discipline engineers at the
City's request. For purposes of this scope of work, it is assumed that a maximum of 3 visits from
each of the following will be provided: Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and Electrical
or Controls Engineer. If possible, these visits will coincide with the biweekly Construction
meeting.
The Engineer will also provide geotechnical representation during the geotechnical site
improvements, which include stone column installation and jet grouting. Based on an estimated
four-month window of full-time geotechnical work, the following assumptions are included for
work undertaken by the geotechnical subconsultant:
H:1Client\Everett_SEAContracts17094A10-Clearwell dsgn\Amend 2Exhibit A p A-2
