ORDINANCE NO. <br /> An Ordinance Amending Section 3(D) of Chapter 5 of Ordinance No. <br /> 2530-01 (EMC 15.20.110), Extending the Effective Period for Land Use <br /> Permits Issued under Review Process II and III. <br /> WHEREAS, the City adopted Ordinance No. 2530-01 to establish Local <br /> Project Review Procedures and implement certain requirements of State law <br /> contained in RCW 36.70B; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 3(D) of Chapter 5 of said Ordinance No. 2530-01 (EMC <br /> 15.20.110) established an eighteen month effective period for approval of land <br /> use permits issued by the City using Review Process II and Review Process III; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, EMC 15.20.110.B provides for an extension of an additional six <br /> months by the Planning Director; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett has approved a substantial number of land use <br /> permits under Review Processes II and III that have been unable to obtain <br /> building permits due to unfavorable economic conditions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the unusual and unprecedented <br /> economic conditions recently encountered across the nation may result in <br /> projects that would otherwise be beneficial to the City losing their vesting <br /> rights unless additional time can be allowed to secure project financing and <br /> building permits; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that allowing additional time for approved <br /> projects to secure project financing and building permits is both necessary and <br /> beneficial to the City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY DOES ORDAIN THE FOLLOWING: <br /> 60 <br />
