3
e. Spot elevations at ground break points on the appropriate grid
f. The direction of overhead power lines indicated at the pole location and at the marked underground
power lines
g. Fire hydrants, valves, vaults, and primary waterline connection structures
h. Surface indications of sanitary and storm sewer structures with rim and pipe invert elevations,
material and direction of flow
i. Measurement of the nearest fire hydrant, sanitary or storm manhole outside of the project limits.
2.4 The Survey will be prepared on City of Everett horizontal and vertical datum in US Survey feet units. The
survey will be conducted using Global Positioning System methods in combination with conventional
traverse and leveling techniques. The datum, coordinate, and elevation value of controlling survey points
will be shown on the survey map.
2.5 Prior to performing the survey,a local utility vendor will be used to mark the approximate location of
underground utilities using radio frequency detected from the surface. The diameter, size, pressure or
material of underground utilities will not be determined by this effort. Some conduit and pipe material or
the age of installation may not allow detection from the surface and cannot be marked. The marked utilities
will be surveyed and shown on the survey map. Available as-constructed utility records will be obtained
by GHD and provided to the survey subconsultant to include as reference on the survey map.
2.6 Right-of-way research will be performed and evaluated from the available on-line County Assessor
property information and WSDOT information to indicate the approximate location of right-of-way lines
along the project limits. This is not a boundary survey and property corners will not be set as a part of this
service: Right-of-way lines will be determined without the benefit of a current title report;therefore will
the mapping will not indicate easements or encumberances normally discovered with the benefit of a title
report.
2.7 The survey mapping will be prepared under the supervision and approval of a licensed Professional Land
Surveyor(PLS). City-supplied field books will be used for survey data collection. Survey data will be
assembled into a Survey Data Binder, prepared in accordance with City of Everett content and format
standards as applicable(09-09-09 version). Data reduction files will be supplied in ASCII and LandXML
formats. The survey mapping deliverable will be prepared to City of Everett CAD standards using
AutoCAD version 2007.
2.8 During design, supplemental utility potholing will be performed to determine the size, material, and depth
of existing utilities at approximately 6 locations. The locations will be determined by the Consultant and
approved by the City. Potholing will be performed by Bravo Environmental. Resulting potholing
information will be shown on the design plans.
Deliverables: Survey Basemap(2 stamped bond prints;AutoCAD 2007 files)
Survey Data Binder(2 copies)
Table documenting results of utility potholing results
Task 3 Geotechnical Engineering
3.1 Geotechnical engineering will be performed by sub-consultant Terracon.
3.2 Review geologic maps for the project vicinity and perform a reconnaissance of the alignment.
3.3 Complete a subsurface exploration of the alignment The subsurface exploration will consist of 4 hollow
stem auger borings spaced about 300 to 350 feet apart. The borings will extend about 10 feet below the
planned invert elevation at the exploration locations(average boring depth of 20 feet). Two of the borings
will include the installation of 1-inch diameter piezometers with flush-mount surface monuments to f
Page2of7 20
