•
•
3
monitor groundwater conditions. Traffic control services will be required to complete the explorations and
it appears that coring of the existing pavement may also be necessary prior to drilling. Borings completed
through existing pavement will be patched with concrete.
3.4 Measure groundwater levels in the site piezometers one time after drilling to monitor groundwater levels.
3.5 Complete laboratory testing on soil samples obtained from the subsurface explorations. Laboratory testing
is expected to include moisture content determinations and grain size analyses.
3.6 Complete geotechnical analyses of the soil and groundwater conditions relative to design and construction
considerations.
' 3.7 Prepare a geotechnical report summarizing the findings of the geotechnical investigation. The report will
include:
a. Site plan showing pertinent surface features and approximate exploration locations
b. Descriptive logs of the explorations, including existing pavement thickness
c. A summary of the site reconnaissance findings
d. Results of the laboratory tests
e. A discussion of the geotechnical feasibility of the project
f. An evaluation of seismic induced liquefaction and estimated seismic settlements
g. Recommendations for support of the new pipeline and manhole structures and estimates of probable
post-construction settlements
h. Structural till placement and compaction recommendations including a discussion regarding the
feasibility of utilizing on-site soil as trench backfill
i. A discussion regarding the potential for hydrostatic uplift pressures on subsurface structures and
geotechnical design recommendations to resist uplift,as appropriate
j. Recommendations for temporary open cut slopes and trench shoring
k. An evaluation of dewatering considerations and estimated dewatering discharge rates,as appropriate.
Our evaluation of dewatering discharge rates,if required by the site conditions, would be based on the
results of the grain size analyses.
Deliverables: Geotechnical Report(Prepared by Terracon)
Task 4 Permitting Support
The City of Everett will prepare and submit applications for all permits and approvals required for this project,
which are anticipated to include an HPA from Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, SEPA,and City of
Everett construction permits. Allowances have been included for Consultant participation in permitting,
anticipated to consist of providing input and data for the permit applications and attending meetings as requested.
Task 5 Final Plans,Specifications,and Estimates
This task includes preparation of final plans, specifications, and estimates(PS&E)for the project. Anticipated
sub-tasks include:
5.1 Finalize upstream basin delineation and final pipe sizing calculations. Prepare technical memorandum
documenting final calculations for the drainage improvements(submit at 90%,draft and final).
Page3of7 21
