• Educate and involve community members through the trial <br />program. <br />• Continue and expand the program based on success and the <br />results of the trial program evaluation. <br />E. The City also endeavors to achieve the following through the <br />trial program: <br />• Determine whether LCA actively supports the replacement of <br />pesticide use in Lowell Park by volunteering on a regular basis <br />to control weeds in turf areas, sand areas, and landscape areas. <br />• Determine the financial impact of the trial program related to <br />program costs and benefits and to Parks and Recreation <br />Department priorities. <br />• Determine which, if any, specific park maintenance <br />methodologies used in this program are applicable to <br />maintenance in other Everett parks. <br />• In Lowell Park during the pilot program, continue to have a <br />functional and standard appearance comparable to similar <br />Everett parks, unless otherwise agreed upon, and continued <br />support by LCA and the general community. <br />DIVISION OF RESPONSIBILITIES <br />1. LCA will provide pesticide -free control of weeds in Lowell <br />Park turf areas, sand areas, and landscape areas during the one-year term of <br />the trial program. This includes: <br />a. Recruitment, training, and assignment of volunteers. <br />b. Project management, including such tasks as organizing <br />volunteer work, seeking grant funding for project progress <br />And completion, monitoring appearance of Lowell Park, and <br />coordinating assistance during the trial program and <br />assessment of the trial program with the Parks and <br />Recreation Department. <br />The City will not compensate or reimburse LCA for this work. <br />2 <br />13 <br />
