Karen Williams - Submitted that public safety must come first. She questioned
the guarantee that the events at the facility would not be "dangerous events".
Lenorah Williams - Submitted that she purchased her house in Lowell because
of the small non-violent neighborhood. She was concerned that the proposed
facility could bring violence to the area.
Elly Smith - Submitted that she drops her daughter weekday mornings at a bus
stop near the proposed facility. She questioned whether her daughter would be
safe because of the close proximity of the proposed facility to the bus stop.
Mary Drayton - Submitted that she is opposed to Second Chance. If the Second
Chance facility is approved, she will have reservations about purchasing a home
in the Lowell neighborhood.
Weston Williams - No personal comments.
Mr. & Mrs. Dean Larson - No personal comments.
Loren Watson - No personal comments.
Mary Zuovich - No personal comments.
Gary Williams - No personal comments.
Bob Dahlgren - No personal comments.
AnnMarie Allen - No personal comments.
Shirley Watson - No personal comments.
Della Bruett - No personal comments.
51. In addition to the above referred to exhibits, Mr. Slatten submitted exhibit #69, a
15 page summary of his position on the requested Special Property Use Permit.
In the exhibit, Mr. Slatten documents his arguments of opposition and submits
that the proposal does not satisfy the criteria of EMC 19.41.150.0 & D. In
particular, he contended that there was not a need for the proposed facility
because of its excessive size and because other detention facilities in the City of
Everett provide juvenile justice services to the community and to the State.
23
