20. A portable fire extinquisher with a minimum U.L. ratinq <br />oC 2-A must be provided wlthin ?5 feet oE travel of all <br />portions of each buildinq durinq construction and prior <br />to occupancy. <br />21. Fire safety practices durinq construction must be in <br />conpltance with Article 87 oC the Uniforrti Fire Code. <br />22. A sprinkler system complyinq with UBC Standard ]8-1 <br />and/or �!�PA standard 1] must be provided. <br />Plans for any such system must be submitted to the <br />Building Department and the Everett Fire Department for _ <br />examination and approval. Such plans must include <br />plans for the underqround mains that will supply the <br />sprinkler system. <br />As of January, 1991, sprinkler system permits are <br />issued by the Buildinq Department. Plan review fees <br />are assessed by the Building Department. No fee is <br />assessed by the Fire Department. <br />Abave qround sprinkler pipinq must be hydrostatically <br />tested as established in NFPA Standard 17. Underground <br />piping must be hydrostatically tested and flushed as <br />established in NFPS standard 24 for private fire mains. <br />All such tests must be witnessed by a Fire Department <br />inspector. Call 259-8710 to make an appointment for <br />inspeation. <br />Contractors' materials and test certificates must be <br />submitted to the Everett Fire Department prior to <br />issuance of any Certificates of Occupancy. <br />Call 259-8726 for more information. <br />27. An approved automatic fire detection/alarm system must <br />be provided as required by Chapter 16.76 of the Everett <br />Hunicipal Code. <br />Plans for such a system must be submitted to the Fire <br />Harshal Por reviea and approval prior to installation. <br />Submittal shall include cut sheets of all equipment <br />intended for use. Appropriate trip tests, witnessed by <br />a Fire Department inspector, must be performed prior to <br />linal acceptance of the system. <br />Fire alarm systems must be installed under permit of <br />the City of Everett Buildinq Department. Electrical <br />inspections and approval are required prior to callinq <br />for acceptance tests. Call 259-8810 for permit <br />information. <br />
