J March 9, 1999 Job No. 892-22G Gustavson Construction Page 2 CASC,4DE GEO-ECHNIC,4L SITE DESCRIPTION The site is located south of and adjacent to Silver Lake Road on the south side of Silver Lake in Everett, Washington. The majority of the site is flat; however, the site slopes up to a higher eleva- tion in the southeast corner. The low, flat oortion of the site was vegetated with grass and brush. Water had ponded over much of the area. The higher southeast portion of the si'_e was drl and vegetated with large fir and cedar. An existing two story home is located in the south half of the site. We understand that the house will be demolished. SUBSURFACS CONDITIONS Test pits 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 showed approximately one and one-half (1.5) feet to two and one-half (2.5) feet of uncontrolled fill overlying a fibrous peat that was from five and one-half (5.5) feet to nine (9) feet thick. The fill generally consisted of gray-brown s.tlty sand with gravel. The p�at was generally brown to dark brown, soft and saturated.. Below the pcat was native clay, silt and/or silty sand with some gravel. The clay was generally soft to stiff and moist to wet. The silt and silty sand with gravel were medium dense to very dense an� moist. Test pits 3 and 7 were lo- cated in the higher southeast portion of the site and showed one and one-half (1.5) to two (2) to two (2) feet o£ topsoil overlying medium dense to very dense silty sand. Ground water seepase was noted within the peat and at two and one- half (2.5) feet in test pit 7.
