J <br />March 9, 1999 <br />Job No. 892-22G <br />Gustavson Construction <br />Page 2 <br />CASC,4DE GEO-ECHNIC,4L <br />SITE DESCRIPTION <br />The site is located south of and adjacent to Silver Lake Road on <br />the south side of Silver Lake in Everett, Washington. The majority <br />of the site is flat; however, the site slopes up to a higher eleva- <br />tion in the southeast corner. The low, flat oortion of the site <br />was vegetated with grass and brush. Water had ponded over much of <br />the area. The higher southeast portion of the si'_e was drl and <br />vegetated with large fir and cedar. <br />An existing two story home is located in the south half of the <br />site. We understand that the house will be demolished. <br />SUBSURFACS CONDITIONS <br />Test pits 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 showed approximately one and one-half <br />(1.5) feet to two and one-half (2.5) feet of uncontrolled fill <br />overlying a fibrous peat that was from five and one-half (5.5) feet <br />to nine (9) feet thick. The fill generally consisted of gray-brown <br />s.tlty sand with gravel. The p�at was generally brown to dark <br />brown, soft and saturated.. Below the pcat was native clay, silt <br />and/or silty sand with some gravel. The clay was generally soft to <br />stiff and moist to wet. The silt and silty sand with gravel were <br />medium dense to very dense an� moist. Test pits 3 and 7 were lo- <br />cated in the higher southeast portion of the site and showed one <br />and one-half (1.5) to two (2) to two (2) feet o£ topsoil overlying <br />medium dense to very dense silty sand. <br />Ground water seepase was noted within the peat and at two and one- <br />half (2.5) feet in test pit 7. <br />
