6 <br /> AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT <br /> AND <br /> MAKERS ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN DESIGN <br /> The City and Makers Architecture and Urban Design("Makers") agree to amend and modify <br /> their Professional Services Agreement dated November 12, 2009 (the"Agreement") as follows: <br /> WHEREAS, Makers and the City entered into the Agreement to assist the City in the preparation <br /> of the Evergreen Way Corridor Revitalization Plan for the corridor area which extends for <br /> approximately 6.1 miles along Evergreen Way/Rucker Avenue from 41St Street to Gibson Road; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, in December 2009 the City received an Energy Efficiency in Transportation <br /> Planning(EETP) Grant from the Washington Department of Commerce("Commerce") for the <br /> SR 99/Evergreen Way Land Use and Transportation Integration project that extends the study <br /> area approximately 1.5 miles to the south along SR 99 (Evergreen Way)from Gibson Road to <br /> 148 St. SW, expands the planning area around the Swift BRT Stations from VI mile to )/2 mile, <br /> and provides for inter jurisdictional planning between the City,the City of Mukilteo, and <br /> Snohomish County; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City and Makers agree to amend their agreement to (a)perform the additional <br /> work as detailed in the EETP Grant, (b)increase the maximum compensation by an additional <br /> $80,835 from the current contract level of$147,730 to $228,565, and(c) extend the time for <br /> completion from April 30,2011 to April 30,2012. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, the City of Everett and Makers agree to amend and modify the Agreement <br /> as follows: <br /> 1. Scope of Work. <br /> A. Start-Up <br /> • Obtain information from Mukilteo and Snohomish County to complement materials <br /> from the City of Everett and Community Transit. <br /> • Prepare maps of conditions from Downtown Everett to Snohomish/King county line, <br /> illustrating circulation elements, BRT stations,proposed nodes, special features open <br /> spaces and generalized development structure. Review current efforts of individnwl <br /> jurisdictions within the corridor as may be useful and relevant to this project. <br /> • Brief City of Mukilteo or Snohomish County officials, as requested. <br /> B. Kick-off Event and Preliminary Meetings <br /> • Meet with local community members in the Lincoln Way station vicinity. <br /> • Meet with local business community members in the corridor segment within County <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> C.
