n MAY 3, 1976 <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Everett Board of Adjustment <br />was called to order at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers <br />by acting Chairman Gordon Baird. <br />Mr. Black, Fr. Russell, Mr. Berg, and the newly elected member <br />resent. Mr. <br />ansen <br />whosertermawould Kistinsen whave ere pi1replaced <br />expired January1,,1977. The first rGraff <br />order <br />of business was the election of a chairman to replace Mr. Graff. <br />Mr. Baird was the only nominee. The Board members voted and <br />approved Mr. Baird as chairman of the Board of Adjustment for the <br />year of 1976. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. <br />A hearing was held on the application of Lee van Winkle, 5303 <br />Glenwood Avenue, Everett, Washington for a variance from Section <br />B, for <br />(Zoning <br />missionto abutonapubicdedicatedstreetrforaahminimum ofr <br />thirty (30) feet rather than the required for (40) feet. <br />act of <br />ALegal pproximateilocationEast 100 Seahurstfeet of Lot 18 and 53rd Street southwest. <br />Everett Dells <br />southwest. <br />Zoning: R-2, Single -Family High -Density Residence <br />After visually viewing the subject -property and considering all <br />the facts and testimony, it was moved by Mr. Russell, seconded <br />by Mr. Black and unanimously carried to grant the applicant's <br />request for the following reasons: <br />1. The variance is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment <br />of a substantial property right specifically that there is <br />sufficient area for a single family dwelling. <br />2. Granting the variance will not be detrimental to the public <br />welfare or injurious to property in the vicinity because all <br />City Codes will be met. <br />3. There is good access to the proposed building site. <br />A hearing was held on the application of Arthur Kestler, 2433 <br />9th Avenue West, Seattle, Washington, for a variance from Section <br />19.14.050, E.C.C.
