27. Construction activities must be in compliance with Uniform Fire <br />Code, 1985 Edition, Article 87, "Fire Safety During <br />Corstruction." <br />26. Prior to issuance of occupancy permits, portable fire protection <br />must be provided throughout the building, as required by Article <br />10 of the Uniform Fire Code. <br />29. The Fire Department may recommend or require installation of a <br />rapid entry system in order to facilitate access to the <br />structure(s). <br />30. The Police Department has the followinq security <br />rec�mmendations: <br />a. Lighting of the parkinq lot should be a minimum of 1-2 foot <br />candles. <br />b. During the final stages of construction, please contact Dick <br />Thornberry, Crime Prevention Officer at 259-0416 for further <br />security recommendations. <br />c. A monitored fire and intrusion alarm system zoned for each <br />entity should be provided. To provide protection in case of <br />armed robbery, include remote panic buttons and/or fuot trip <br />if using customer counter. <br />d. If offices will be handlinq cash, an actual moneseismic <br />should be installed (for next day receipts only). <br />detectors and passive infrared alarm sensors should also be <br />installed in the room. <br />e. The perimeter doors should be solid core or metal with <br />double cylinder dead-bolts installed. If doors open to the <br />outside, or hinges are exposed, pin hinges should be <br />provided.. <br />f. If store front qlass doors are part of the project, they <br />should have locking case bolts top and bottom. The door <br />should ha've a maximum security deadbolt with 1-7/4" throw <br />and 3/4" laminated steel. <br />g. If utilizing fencing, it should be 6' chain link.
