Waste roofing materials are not presumed to be inert
and therefore are not acceptable as fill material.
© Brick and masonry that has been used for structural and construction purposes.
© Ceramic materials produced from fired clay or porcelain.
® Glass composed primarily of sodium, calcium,, silica, boric oxide, magnesium oxide,
lithium oxide or aluminum oxide. Glass presumed to be. inert includes, but is not limited
to, window glass, glass containers, glass fiber, glasses resistant to thermal shock, and
glass ceramics. Glass containing significant concentrations of lead, mercury or other
toxic substances is not presumed to be inert.
® ,Stainless steel and aluminum
® Uncontaminated soils means soils that do not contain contaminants at concentrations
which could negatively impact the existing quality of air, waters of the state, soils or
sediments. Soils that exceed Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) Method A Soil Cleanup
Levels (Table 740-1) are considered contaminated. Soils that contain Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons (TPI -1), (Diesel Range Organics and Heavy Oils) that exceed
concentrations of 460 mg/kg and/or TPH (gasoline) concentrations of 100 mg/kg are
considered contaminated. Drill borings and other slurry -like material must not produce
leachate outside the pH range of 6.5 to 8.5. Soils must pass the Paint Filter Liquids Test
and show no free liquids.
E. Unacceptable wastes include, but are not necessarily limited to: putrescible waste, garbage,
organic material, woodwaste, land clearing debris, any type of lumber, roofing debris, animal
manure, ash, hazardous or dangerous wastes, septage, contaminated soils and soil -like waste,
biosolids, and or liquids.
F.
