EXHIBIT A 3 <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> approximately 15 percent of the total engineering/permitting costs during the design phase is <br /> included in this task. The funds included in this task cannot be utilized without prior written <br /> approval from the City of Everett. <br /> Additional Services <br /> The following services are not included in the basic services and will be considered extra work to <br /> be performed by the Engineer, if authorized by the City of Everett in a contract amendment. <br /> 1. Provide potholing determined appropriate for the project for any non-city owned utilities. <br /> 2. Provide On-Site Mill Inspections. Provide on-site mill inspection of the pipe as requested <br /> by the City. <br /> 3. As requested by the City, provide any other additional services not specifically included in <br /> the scope of work above. <br /> 4. If requested by the City,provide the following construction management services: <br /> Task 9. Construction Management Services <br /> 1. Contract Administration. Hours estimated for engineering support services during <br /> construction are based on the assumption that MWH is also performing on-site field <br /> inspection and Contraction Management Services Provide the services of a Project <br /> Manager(part time), Construction Manager(part time) and Senior Inspector(full time) and <br /> additional office engineer time to perform the following construction services: <br /> a. Project Management. Manage in-house and subconsultant work including setup of <br /> files, monitoring budgets, schedule, personnel assignments, preparation of thirteen <br /> (13) monthly invoices and progress reports, and processing of sub consultant <br /> invoices. <br /> b. Preconstruction Conference. Coordinate, attend and conduct the preconstruction <br /> conference. The conference will be attended by the Engineer's Construction Manager <br /> and Office Engineer. Prior to the conference, the Engineer will transmit conference <br /> invitations to the City, environmental and regulatory agencies, utility, Construction <br /> Contractor, and Construction Contractor's representatives as needed and/or requested. <br /> A maximum of one half day is budgeted for this conference. <br /> c. Shop Drawing Review and Processing. Receive, check for completeness, and log all <br /> shop drawings, material samples, and other Construction Contractor submittals. <br /> Review these submittals for conformance to the intent of the contract documents. <br /> Compile written comments and return shop drawings to the Construction Contractor <br /> upon completion of the review process. Maintain a shop drawing submittal <br /> file/tracking system to assure timely responses and minimize potential delays. <br /> Evaluate substitution(s) and 'or equal(s)' proposed by the Construction Contractor <br /> during construction and provide recommendations to the City for final approval. <br /> MWH Page 8 EVERETT PHASE 7 <br /> 8112110 EXHIBIT A—SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 37 <br />
