EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF WORK 3 <br /> • Construction correspondence <br /> The Engineer's standard forms will be used where applicable, for records and <br /> reporting procedures. At completion of the work, and prior to final acceptance, <br /> provide the City with all completed field books, project daily reports, summary <br /> tabulations of installed bid breakdown quantity items, field notes, and other job <br /> records as listed above. <br /> i. Formal Acceptance, Review and Recommendation. Make recommendations to the <br /> City concerning intermediate completion dates, operational acceptance, substantial <br /> completion, and final acceptance of the work. Include review of requests for <br /> extension of time by the Construction Contractor. <br /> 2. Field Engineering Services. Provide the services of a full time Senior Inspector to perform <br /> the following services: <br /> a. On-Site Field Observation and Monitoring. Provide on-site field observation and <br /> monitoring to observe the quality and progress of the construction to help determine <br /> if the work is performed in general conformance with provisions of the construction <br /> contract documents to responsibly carry out the program of inspection to guard the <br /> City against defects and deficiencies in the work of the Construction Contractor, and <br /> to advise the Construction Contractor when defects and deficiencies are observed in <br /> the work. <br /> Engineer will direct its efforts toward determining that the completed project will be <br /> in general conformance with the plans and specifications, but Engineer shall not be <br /> responsible for the means, methods, techniques, or procedures of construction <br /> selected by the Construction Contractor or for the safety precautions and programs <br /> incident to the work of Construction Contractor or for any failure of Construction <br /> Contractor to comply with laws, ordinances, rules, or regulations applicable to the <br /> construction work. The parties recognize that the Construction Contractor is <br /> responsible for ensuring that construction is in accordance with the plans and <br /> specifications. <br /> Notwithstanding any inferences, references, or omissions to the contrary contained <br /> within this document, the City understands that Engineer would not direct any <br /> Construction Contractors or Construction subcontractors, at the job site, and it is <br /> hereby agreed that Engineer would assume no obligation for any acts, errors, or <br /> omissions of parties other than Engineer <br /> b. Project Daily Report. Complete a daily report that records decisions and observations <br /> of a general or specific nature in chronological order. <br /> c. Coordinate Testing and Inspection. Coordinate, report, and log the results for field <br /> sampling, field testing, and laboratory testing of coatings, field welding and concrete <br /> to determine compliance of those materials with construction contract requirements. <br /> In those instances where unsatisfactory test results are obtained, follow through with <br /> MWH Page 10 EVERETT PHASE 7 <br /> 8/12110 EXHIBIT A—SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 39 <br />
