2 <br /> • Progress Reports <br /> TASK 9: CIVIL/ROADWAY/TRAFFIC DESIGN <br /> This Task will be performed by TranTech's subconsultant Perteet to provide Civil/Roadway/ <br /> Traffic services. <br /> A. Alternative Design Study <br /> Perteet will prepare horizontal and vertical alignment alternatives for the project to support the <br /> analysis of up to three alternatives:The horizontal alignment for the project has been determined- <br /> by the existing roadway alignment. However, the exact alignment remains to be fixed based on <br /> detailed survey information. <br /> An opinion of cost will be prepared based on the alternatives. The opinion of cost will be <br /> based on unit prices, and incorporate about a 30% contingency to account for the level of <br /> completeness of plan preparation, and to reflect past experience on similar projects within the <br /> region. <br /> An evaluation matrix will be developed for purpose of comparing the costs, construction <br /> feasibility, staged construction flexibility, and other criteria as may be developed during the <br /> course of the work. Selection of the preferred alternative will be made by the City stakeholders, <br /> and the preferred alternative will be carried forward in the design. <br /> Deliverables: <br /> • Up to three alternative roadway plans and profiles as roll plots <br /> • Opinion of Cost for each alternative <br /> • Evaluation matrix <br /> B. PS&E Preparation <br /> The PS&E Contract Documents will be by supplement to this agreement. It is anticipated that <br /> the design team will negotiate a contract to prepare 60%, 90% and Bid Ready Final PS&E, <br /> specifications, and engineering cost estimates for the project based on the preliminary design <br /> using current City of Everett design standards shall be used. <br /> Assumptions: <br /> • The plans sheets above will be submitted to the prime consultant for incorporation <br /> into the City submittal. The Prime Consultant will prepare all other sheets. <br /> • The Prime Consultant will lead the effort of preparing the Bid Documents including <br /> the City boilerplate, special provisions,and required Federal Aid documentation. <br /> C. Design Criteria: <br /> Reports and plans, to the extent feasible, shall be developed in accordance with the latest edition <br /> and amendments of the following: <br /> 29 <br />
