The Alternative Study includes demolition of the existing structure and <br /> replacing it with a bridge structure that has the same footprint and alignment. The new structure <br /> shall satisfy BNSF guidelines. Some of the clearance guidelines may subject to future <br /> negotiations with BNSF. The Alternative Study will follow the most current WSDOT, <br /> AASHTO, and City requirements. <br /> Throughout the structural investigations, special care will be given toward low impact design <br /> approach for many reasons including noise reduction and protection of the adjacent businesses <br /> and buildings. The design parameters involved for the alternative study of the superstructure and <br /> substructure design of this bridge replacement project are: <br /> 1. Railroad crossing requirements and approvals <br /> 2. Retaining wall requirements <br /> 3. Bridge Deck Drainage <br /> 4. Construction clearances <br /> 5. Inspection and Maintenance requirements <br /> 6. Aesthetic considerations and special structures <br /> 7. Traffic detour requirements <br /> 8. Staged construction <br /> 9. Geotechnical requirements <br /> This Task includes the following subtasks; <br /> A. Alternative Study Report <br /> The Report will study up to three viable alternatives for the bridge replacement which includes <br /> the following sections: <br /> 30 <br />
