King County Surface Water Design Manual <br /> TASK 10: STRUCTURAL DESIGN <br /> In this task TranTech will perform the preliminary study and analysis for replacing the existing <br /> Broadway Overcrossing. The Alternative Study includes demolition of the existing structure and <br /> replacing it with a bridge structure that has the same footprint and alignment. The new structure <br /> shall satisfy BNSF guidelines. Some of the clearance guidelines may subject to future <br /> negotiations with BNSF. The Alternative Study will follow the most current WSDOT, <br /> AASHTO, and City requirements. <br /> Throughout the structural investigations, special care will be given toward low impact design <br /> approach for many reasons including noise reduction and protection of the adjacent businesses <br /> and buildings. The design parameters involved for the alternative study of the superstructure and <br /> substructure design of this bridge replacement project are: <br /> 1. Railroad crossing requirements and approvals <br /> 2. Retaining wall requirements <br /> 3. Bridge Deck Drainage <br /> 4. Construction clearances <br /> 5.
