WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed amendments to development regulations <br />are consistent with the criteria for amending the Zoning Code text as follows: <br />1. The proposed amendments are consistent with the applicable provisions of the Everett <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />2. The proposed amendments bear a substantial relation to public health, safety or welfare; <br />and <br />The proposed amendments promote the best long term interests of the Everett <br />community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br />Section 1: International Building Code. <br />All references to the "Uniform Building Code" in Sections 3.2, 7.2.2, and 8.1.2 of Attachment A <br />to Ordinance No. 2213-97, <br />ARE HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />"International Building Code." <br />Section 2: Critical Areas. <br />All references to "environmentally sensitive area(s)" in Sections 3.3, 4.3.1, and 4.3.2 of <br />Attachment A to Ordinance No. 2213-97 <br />ARE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />"critical area(s)." <br />Section 3: EMC 19.37 <br />All references to "Everett's Environmentally Sensitive Areas Ordinance" and "environmentally <br />sensitive areas regulations" in Table 1-2 in Sections 1.1 and Section 4.3.2 of Attachment A to <br />Ordinance No. 2213-97 <br />ARE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />"EMC 19.37." <br />Section 4: Geologically Hazardous Areas. <br />Section 3.1 of Attachment A to Ordinance No. 2213-97, which reads in part as follows: <br />All slopes that are not designated environmentally sensitive may be modified. Major cuts and <br />fills will likely occur to make sites suitable for development. <br />
