• <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Title. <br /> This ordinance shall be known as and may be cited as the "Automatic Fire <br /> Detection and Suppression Systems Ordinance. " <br /> Section 2: Definitions. <br /> For purposes of this ordinance, words and phrases used in this ordinance shall <br /> mean as follows: <br /> A. "Approved" refers to approval by the City of Everett Fire Chief as a <br /> result of investigation and tests conducted by him or by reason of accepted <br /> principles or tests by national authorities, technical or scientific organizations. <br /> B. "Area Separation Wall" shall mean a wall constructed in accordance with <br /> the requirements of the UBC. <br /> C. "Automatic Fire Suppression System" means an integrated system of piping <br /> which is specifically engineered or hydraulically designed for the application of <br /> extinguishing agents and to which the appropriate applicators are connected in a <br /> systematic pattern, which conforms to the requirements of the UBC. All references <br /> in this ordinance to automatic fire suppression system means an "approved" automatic <br /> suppression system. <br /> D. "Automatic Fire Detection System" shall mean a heat and/or smoke <br /> detection system monitored by a central and/or remote station conforming to the <br /> requirements of the UBC. All references in this ordinance to automatic fire <br /> detection system means an "approved" automatic detection system. <br /> 2 <br />
