7 <br /> TASK 10 STRUCTURAL. DESIGN <br /> TranTech will perform structural analysis and design to replace the existing Broadway <br /> Overcrossing. The work includes demolition of the existing structure and replacing it with a <br /> bridge structure that has the same footprint and alignment. The new structure shall satisfy BNSF <br /> guidelines. Some of the clearance guidelines may subject to future negotiations with BNSF. The <br /> bridge design will follow the most current WSDOT,AASHTO, and City requirements. <br /> Throughout the structural design activities, special care will be given toward low impact design <br /> approach for many reasons including noise reduction and protection of the adjacent businesses <br /> and buildings. <br /> The design parameters involved for the superstructure and substructure design of this bridge <br /> replacement project are: <br /> a. Railroad crossing requirements and approvals <br /> b. Retaining wall requirements <br /> c. Bridge Deck Drainage <br /> d. Construction clearances <br /> e. Inspection and Maintenance requirements <br /> f. Aesthetic considerations and special structures <br /> g. Traffic detour requirements <br /> h. Staged construction <br /> i.
