12 <br /> EXHIBIT A-3 <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Task 10—Technical Specifications <br /> Technical specifications will be prepared in the master format of the Construction Specifications <br /> Institute, 1995 version.URS anticipates the following specification divisions: <br /> • Division 2—Site Work <br /> • Division 3—Concrete <br /> • Division 5—Metals <br /> • Division 9—Finishes <br /> • Division 15—Mechanical <br /> The specifications will be performance oriented with flexibility to allow the contractor to <br /> collaborate and propose innovative and cost saving ideas. <br /> The technical specifications require some additional work to complete to 100%. One bound and <br /> one unbound camera-ready copy of the will be submitted as part of the Project Manual(Task 13) <br /> along with electronic version in Word and PDF formats. <br /> Task 11—Construction Cost Estimates <br /> Construction cost estimates require some additional work to include the changes to the <br /> dechlorination vault and pipe configuration. The cost estimate will be developed as follows: <br /> • Complete quantity take-offs from the drawings. <br /> • Unit costs from pre-design experience,contractor quotes,and other City projects <br /> • Total costs for each component of the construction <br /> • Mark-up overhead, sales tax,City management and contingency <br /> The cost estimate will be submitted to the City separately from other project documents. <br /> Submittals will be provided to the City at the 100%design level of the project. <br /> Task 12—Construction Schedule <br /> URS will update the materials procurement and construction schedule for the 100% submittal <br /> with primary construction milestones. This will be used as a reference for the City to plan for <br /> project installation and permit acquisition,and to plan for the pipeline shutdown for concurrent <br /> connections of both ends of the new trenched pipe to the existing pipeline. <br /> The schedule will also be used to support the contractor's construction schedule,specifically to <br /> plan for the pipeline shutdown, connections,disinfection and startup. The City will provide the <br /> maximum durationthat the pipeline can be off-line during construction. <br /> The construction schedule will be developed using Microsoft Project. <br /> Task 13—Project Manual <br /> URS will complete the project manual to the 100%design level for bidding that will serve as the <br /> basis for the construction contract.
