Review of existing available Lake Chaplain day-to-day and emergency <br /> reservoir operations plans as they pertain to dam safety considerations. <br /> Information will be gathered form the North and South Chaplain Dam's <br /> Emergency Action Plans for consistency of the proposed work. <br /> c. Develop a plan approach to repair and maintain or to plug and abandon <br /> (stabilize)the existing#1 Line Tunnel. Preliminary design estimates of the <br /> probable cost will be developed: <br /> d. A draft of Engineering Report will be submitted for review, comment, and <br /> approval to the City Everett prior to submitting to Dam Safety. After <br /> receiving approval from the City a copy of the final Engineering report will be <br /> submitted to Dam Safety from review and approval. <br /> e. It is anticipated that there will be two meetings associated with development <br /> of the engineering report: one with the City Staff and one with City Staff and <br /> Dam Safety. <br /> f. Owner responsibilities shall include provide available engineering documents <br /> with available geotechnical, geological, day-to-day and emergency reservoir <br /> operations, and as-built information regarding the Lake Chaplain,the dam <br /> embankment, and#1 Line Tunnel. In addition,the Owner shall be <br /> responsible for the costs associated with permits and review by regulatory <br /> agencies. <br /> Task 3—Design development of plans and specification for stabilizing or <br /> rehabilitating the#1 Line Tunnel <br /> The Preliminary Design will not commence until the City has provided written <br /> authorization for the work. The objective is to develop preliminary design concepts and <br /> construction drawings of the selected alternative in this phase (35%). <br /> a. The preliminary plans will be developed in the Owner approved format and <br /> will incorporate Owner and Dam Safety design standards. <br /> b. The preliminary design will incorporate available as-built information <br /> provided by the Owner. <br /> c. Construction specifications will be developed using Owner-approved format, <br /> to include proposal, contract, and bonding and insurance requirements. <br /> 151 <br />
